Dressing up in costume has become important for holidays and festivals, with Halloween costumes and Mardi Gras costumes becoming increasingly popular. The ‘red cross’ nurse uniform was primarily worn during times of war. The classic nurse uniform has been restyled for the purpose of sexy costuming, shortening the dress to mid-thigh (or less!), and adding sexy thigh high stockings, high heel shoes, and long, luxurious costume wigs. Sexy nurse uniforms, as opposed to the traditional style, can be found adorned with feathers and sequins, sometimes only appropriate for the bedroom, hence the term ‘ bedroom costumes’ or ‘naughty costumes’!
