Dating back to Greek Mythology the symbol of tragedy and comedy in theatre have been immortalised by 2 distinct faces. This costume mask is the metallic gold face of tragedy, but it is not all sad, emotions can mean many things. The primary reason for the masks was to ensure the audience members who were sitting further away were able to distinguish the emotions being portrayed and for men to pretend they were women without the makeup. This tragedy mask is a wonderful choice for a masquerade mask or to wear as part of a theatre production.
Description:
- Gold molded plastic mask with the traditional frowning tragedy facial features.
- To maintain vision and breathing the mask has holes for the eyes, nostrils and mouth.
- The costume mask has an open back and is secured in place with the attached elastic string.
- For comfort wear there is a foam sponge attached on the inside of the forehead.
